Education

Education provides the Riverbrook women with the opportunity to learn about themselves and the world around them.

Josephine and Cathy practice their sign language skills together.

Education provides the Riverbrook women with the opportunity to learn about themselves and the world around them through activities designed to challenge and broaden their perspectives, as well as enhance their ability to communicate.

In current-event discussion groups, women read and discuss items of popular interest. The women learn sign language and attend letter writing classes. Computer instruction and support allows the women to connect with friends and family. It is conducted one-on-one and is designed to meet the needs of the individual. Journal writing encourages the women to express themselves freely. Money and cooking classes teach valuable skills by combining classroom instruction with hands-on experience. Our new facility, Riverbrook-on-Main is located in the heart of Stockbridge village and offers resources for the vocational training.

Mary enjoys the daily newspaper reading group at Riverbrook where she catches up on the latest news and events.
