Gretchen M. West, M.A., CCC/SLP, MEd is in her fourth year as the Assistant Director of Special Education for the North Adams Public Schools. She also serves as the Early Childhood Coordinator as well as the Out of District Coordinator for the North Adams Public Schools. She worked for the Pittsfield Public Schools for much of her career, first as a Speech/Language Pathologist, then as the Director of Special Education. She transitioned to become the Director of Student Support Services for the Central Berkshire Regional School Districts. She continues to serve as a consultant Speech/Language Pathologist for various local agencies which support individuals with disabilities.

Gretchen graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She earned her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at State University of New York Plattsburgh. She returned to graduate school to obtain a second Master’s degree in Leadership of Educational Institutions from the American Intercontinental University.

A resident of Dalton, Massachusetts, Gretchen and her husband, Adam, are the proud parents of two children. Gretchen loves gardening, spending quality time with family and friends who all reside locally, playing cards, traveling, and cooking. Her strong commitment to both her career and her loved ones drives her to seek growth in all aspects of life.
